Hope and Anticipation

Okay, so apparently I'm super good at starting things I can't finish. It's been close to 3 months since I last posted on this blog, and there are still no pictures.

I don't have any wheelchair-related news. I asked for a referral to an Occupational Therapist to be "assessed" 3 days ago, and this means that I might be on a six month waiting list to get the documentation I need in order to start approaching private funders for money. Like I said, no news. Cross your fingers anyway.

But what is new, is that my THIRD YEAR at U of W starts in twelve days. I will miss sleeping in very much, but I'm excited to have structure and learning back in my life. I'm taking 4 psychology classes, 3 of which are at the Honours level, sitting on the Board of Directors of the Students' Association, and tutoring 3 hours a week, so please don't take it personally if I have no time for you until April of 2011.

While I am looking forward to my classes, particularly Cognitive Neuroscience, and Freud: Personality & Clinical Practice, I'm more excited about my UWSA position and seeing what the disability student group at the university can accomplish. Right now my hopes are to bring in b-boy Luca "Lazylegs", of course, to get the Disability Resource Centre of the basement, encourage new members to get involved in activism such as Handitransit reform, and to get all "A"s in my classes.

What are your hopes for this school year?
